DARIA POLATIN is currently developing a TV pilot with Hazy Mills Productions based on a short she wrote and directed entitled “Till It Gets Weird.” She worked on the television series “Weeds” and “Dexter,” and her play Laura & Sebastian (and Jordan & Bliss) was recently presented as part of “Unscreened,” an evening of one-acts in Los Angeles. The play starred Joshua Leonard, Michael Stahl-David, Brooke Bloom, and Kelli Garner, and was co-produced by Anonymous Content.
Daria’s plays include In Tandem, Guidance, That First Fall, D.C., and The Luxor Express, inspired by her father’s life growing up in Egypt. Her work has been produced at The Kennedy Center, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Naked Angels, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Noor Theater, Hen and Chickens Theatre in London, The Wilshire Ebell Theatre with Hollywood Rush, and Cape Cod Theatre Project, where her play Guidance was helmed by Broadway director Mark Brokaw. Her plays are published by Dramatists Play Service, Dramatic Publishing Company and Vintage Books (upcoming). She completed a residency with London’s Royal Court Theatre, earned her BFA from Boston University, and her MFA in Playwriting from Columbia University.
